Background 

An Australian retail company with over 500 employees faced challenges ensuring compliance in its payroll processes. Objectives

How the Results Were Achieved 

Our approach combined both a broad overview and a deep dive into the company’s payroll operations: 

  • Process Mapping:

    We documented current payroll-related business processes in HR, Payroll, and Operations, identifying potential risks and gaps. 

  • Compliance Heatmap:

    A visual heatmap was created to highlight compliance vulnerabilities within existing workflows. 

  • System Integration Review:

    We evaluated the integration of payroll systems and assessed their capability to support compliance. 

  • Risk Assessment:

    An in-depth analysis was conducted to pinpoint areas where operational or financial risks were highest. 

  • Collaboration with Experts:

    Subject Matter Experts were involved in determining weak spots in processes, systems, or personnel that could contribute to compliance breaches. 

We also facilitated training sessions, enabling the client’s teams to continue using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) tools for ongoing process improvements.

    Key compliance risks were mitigated, aligning the company with industry best practices.

    The client’s teams were trained in BPMN, allowing them to maintain and update their processes independently.
